1998-99: Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars won their first Stanley Cup after finishing first during the regular season and lifting the Presidents’ Trophy. In the finals, Dallas was too strong for the Buffalo Sabres and won the series in Game Six in Buffalo, New York.

1999-00: New Jersey Devils

Amazingly, the Avalanche lost the first two games of the series, including the first game 0-5, before mounting an epic comeback. Alex Tanguay scored the winner for Colorado, while Patrick Roy was voted MVP.

2001-02: Detroit Red Wings

Experience prevailed as the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Carolina Hurricanes and won their tenth Stanley Cup. It was Carolina’s first Stanley Cup Finals appearance since joining the NHL more than 20 years ago. The Red Wings ended up sealing the series 4-1 with a fantastic win in Detroit at Joe Louis Arena.

2002-03: New Jersey Devils

The series came down to a high-pressure Game Seven, where Maxime Talbot scored the clutch goal to win the Stanley Cup for the Penguins. The second overall pick, Evgeni Malkin, won the MVP award.

2009-10: Chicago Blackhawks
