With 64 grid squares to deal with, basic bonus games would have been sufficient. However, Play’n GO has taken the same level of care with its many quirky bonus games as they have with the cartoonish details in the main game. To trigger this feature, you must land six or more symbols in the main base game. As you’d imagine, the symbols then disappear, being replaced with symbols that cascade down onto the reels. You'll be credited your winnings once this feature runs out of steam.

Easily the most unique feature in the entire Gigatoonz online slot game, the Quantumeter fills up randomly as you go about your regular spins. The Quantumeter is filled with the number of symbols in a winning combination. Each level goes up in 25s, with a maximum potential of 100 charges. Whenever 25 charges are accumulated within the same spin, four features will trigger after crossing each threshold. These include: Disintegration, Metamorphisis, Radiation and Gigantoonz.

The Gigantoonz online slot pays out in clusters, but there are a handful of symbols that will lead to a nice little jackpot if you trigger enough of them. The red, orange, purple and dark green aliens vary wildly, but matching many of them in a cluster play or a particular bonus round can pay out well. The red alien can pay up to 1,250x the bet.

It can be difficult to distinguish, given there are so many cartoon aliens of similar colours, and many of them don’t offer much. For instance, the bright green and yellow aliens offer a 5x the bet payout at the very most, and that’s for 30+ matching symbols in a cluster.

We conducted our review on an iPhone and an iPad, and the graphics were noticeably better on the wider screen. The Gigantoonz video slot has a fairly restless feel about it. Although the design is excellent, a lot of attention has gone into ensuring it’s not just a rehash of the original. Essentially, it’s not a calming slot game, and the music and aesthetic definitely drive home this point.
