Way back in 2010, on British TV’s Channel 4, a game show called The Million Pound Drop took the daily afternoon spot by storm. In this quiz game, players would get £1 million to place across four answers to one question, with the questions getting progressively more difficult. Those who made it to the end could keep what was left.
Playtech seemed to like this premise, so for their live game show, they combined the money drop boxes of the hit TV show that’s since been recreated around the world with the hit live casino mechanic of the big wheel. Thanks to the likes of Money Drop Live, Playtech is now a major brand in the live game show space, and here’s why…

Like with many live game shows, there aren’t exactly bonus features in Live Money Drop that are along the lines of, say, online slots, but there are elements that boost the usual flow of the game. These take the form of some Boosters and an additional game.

If Card Clash lands on the big wheel of the Money Drop Live game, instead of going to the drop boxes, players will be taken to the cards table. You’ll bet on either the right side or the left side in a similar way to Live Baccarat, but the winning side will be decided by a three-part duel. For each part, the game show host will draw two playing cards from the deck, one to either side, flip them, and determine a winner based on standard high-card rules. The best of three wins.

When the 2 Zones Win Booster is activated on the wheel spin, the next phase of drop zone betting will have two safe zones instead of just one. If the wheel lands a multi-drop Multiplier, the 2 Zones Win Booster carries over each round of drops.

As the name suggests, the Double Booster applies a 2x boost to any winnings that make it through the drop phase.

To win on Live Money Drop, you first need to bet on the tile that you think the wheel will land on when it stops spinning. You can bet on one, two, or even all of them in each round. This will determine the Multiplier of your bet that you’ll be taking to the next round.
Here, your bet will be multiplied by the Multiplier landed on the wheel and spread evenly across ten or fewer stacks of cash. You need to place those stacks on one to four of the drop zones. You could gamble it all on one or play it safe for a return across all four.
Once the drop zones open, one – or two with a Booster in play – will remain closed. Whatever percentage of your multiplied bet was on that closed drop zone will be returned to you as a win. Some of the larger Multipliers, like x100, have two drops to get through before winnings are paid.

To play Money Drop Live on desktop, iOS, or Android devices, you first need to wait for a new betting round to begin. You’ll then be presented with betting options that reflect the positions on the wheel. Set your bet with the chip values, tap down on the coloured betting options, and then watch the game show unfold.
