There are Classic honours up for grabs at the Curragh on Saturday and a brilliant eight-race card awaits at the home of Irish Flat racing.

The feature Irish Oaks is at 15:40, while we have three Group 2s and a premier handicap on the undercard.

We provide a selection with analysis for all eight races on Saturday’s card at the Curragh.

13:30 Juddmonte Chaldean Irish EBF Maiden (7f)

Seoul Force sets the standard in the 7f maiden after his encouraging third to subsequent easy Listed winner Daytona on his debut. However, this race is packed with interesting newcomers and Frankel colt Action catches the eye. He is a half-brother to dual Derby winner Australia and Aidan O’Brien’s juveniles have been cleaning up this term.

Selection: Action

14:00 Scurry Handicap (Premier Handicap) (6½f)

Tango Flare never got a fair crack at things when finishing with running to give in the Listed Dash Stakes at this track last time, and appeals back in a handicap off a mark of 96 in the Scurry, particularly with six of his opponents wrong at the weights. Granted normal luck in-running, he should be thereabouts on a track he likes.

Selection: Tango Flare

14:35 GAIN Railway Stakes (Group 2) (6f)

True Love ate up the ground to land the Queen Mary Stakes at the royal meeting for Aidan O’Brien and has a golden chance of adding another Group 2 to her CV in the Railway Stakes. This doesn’t appeal as the strongest Railway, and True Love is out of a middle-distance mare, so the extra furlong shouldn’t be a bother to her.

Selection: True Love

15:05 Barberstown Castle Sapphire Stakes (Group 2) (5f)

Ed Walker is enjoying an outstanding season and can land another decent pot with Mgheera in the Sapphire Stakes. Mgheera is unbeaten since joining Walker, and her Temple Stakes win has worked out excellently. She is a strong stayer over five furlongs and the Curragh’s stiff 5f should suit her even better than Haydock.

Selection: Mgheera

15:40 Juddmonte Irish Oaks (Group 1) (1m4f)

Minnie Hauk got the better of subsequent Pretty Polly-winning stablemate Whirl in the Epsom Oaks last time and has a golden chance of following up in the Irish equivalent. Whirl’s absence weakens the race, with most of Minnie Hauk’s rivals looking out of place in Classic company. She has three inferior stablemates among her six rivals and this should be run to suit.

16:15 Michael John Kennedy Curragh Cup (Group 2) (1m6f)

After reaching his ceiling in Group 1s over middle distances, the classy Al Riffa rates a tempting proposition on his first foray into staying contests for the Curragh Cup. He should have no concerns about an extra two furlongs given his ability to settle, and this division looks the right way to go. He arrives in top form after his second in the Hardwicke Stakes.

Selection: Al Riffa

16:50 - Lavazza Sprint Nursery Handicap (6f)

Gavoo was outclassed in the Coventry Stakes behind brilliant juvenile Gstaad last time and will find this 6f nursery more palatable. The son of Elzaam ran a nice race behind the smart Andab on his debut and pulled well clear of the third when reeling in a speedy type at Listowel next time. A mark of 83 should be within reach.

Selection: Gavoo

17:25 Cavalor “Bronchix Pulmo” Irish EBF Fillies & Mares Maiden (7f)

The returning Proxima Centauri, who is out of connections’ brilliant racemare Alpha Centauri, brings the best form to the table for Jessica Harrington in the concluding 7f maiden. She showed a good level of ability at two, and there is no reason why she wouldn’t have trained on into her three-year-old campaign judging by her pedigree.

Selection: Proxima Centauri

Irish Oaks Curragh Sunday Tips

Irish Oaks weekend draws to a close with another interesting eight-race card at the Curragh on Sunday.

Headlining the action is the Group 2 Minstrel Stakes (15:40), while there are plenty of other good betting races at the meeting.

We serve up our best bets with analysis for all eight races at the Curragh on Sunday.

13:20 Sycamore Lodge Equine Hospital Irish EBF Fillies Maiden (7f)

Signora may have finished only ninth when a disappointing favourite in the Albany Stakes last time, but she sat too close to an overly strong pace and can bounce back in the 7f fillies’ maiden. Her debut third in a Naas Group 3 was highly encouraging, and this sister to French 1,000 Guineas fourth Exactly can improve for an extra furlong.

Selection: Signora

13:55 Mongey Communications Irish EBF Fillies & Mares Handicap (1m)

Darkdeserthighway shaped promisingly when fifth on her comeback over 7f at Fairyhouse this month and has every chance of going four places better with that behind her over her optimum trip in the mile fillies and mares handicap. It paid to be up with the pace in that contest and Darkdeserthighway made up plenty of late ground in the final two furlongs, suggesting another victory may be forthcoming.

Selection: Darkdeserthighway

14:30 Al Shira’aa Racing Meadow Court Stakes (Group 3) (1m2f)

Sir Mark Prescott doesn’t send many to Ireland, but may have the answer to the Meadow Court Stakes through Tasmania, who was Group 1-placed in France. A disappointment on her stable debut in the Pretty Polly at the Curragh last summer, Tasmania missed the rest of the campaign before returning with a creditable second in the Hoppings Fillies’ Stakes at Newcastle in June. She travelled beautifully into the race and should come forward for that.

Selection: Tasmania

15:05 Kwiff Handicap (1m2f)

Our Friend Mouse rates a fascinating handicap newcomer off top weight in the 1m2f contest. This is a course and distance he knows well, having finished second over it at huge odds on his debut in May before accounting for an 88-rated rival in good style once he eventually found racing room a month later. He is unexposed and open to plenty more improvement.

Selection: Our Friend Mouse

15:40 Romanised Minstrel Stakes (Group 2) (7f)

The Minstrel Stakes is the perfect spot for Room Service, who continues to go from strength to strength for Kevin Ryan. Room Service has continued the progression he showed at three into his four-year-old campaign and came from a long way back to get closest to front-running winner Quinault in the Criterion Stakes at York on his previous run. He retains untapped potential over a stiff 7f and will relish any rain the Curragh gets.

Selection: Room Service

16:15 Kwiff Handicap (5f)

Cuban Grey ran a superb race from 10lb wrong over course and distance in the Rockingham two starts back and must have an outstanding chance dropped in grade for the 5f handicap off 8lb lower. He showed abundant speed to lead them along for much of the way in the Rockingham before fading into fifth, and although he couldn’t replicate that at Dundalk on his latest outing, a wide trip is at least partially to blame and this is much weaker.

Selection: Cuban Grey

16:50 - Hong Kong Thoroughbred Breeders Alliance Irish EBF Maiden (1m4f)

Edelak ran to a Racing Post Rating of 90 on his third run at Fairyhouse last month and a reproduction of that performance may be good enough in the 1m4f maiden. The son of Almanzor is coming forward with every run and has plenty more to offer over this distance for Johnny Murtagh.

Selection: Edelak

17:25 Visit Keadeenhotel.ie Irish EBF Fillies Maiden (1m1f)

The 1m1f fillies maiden can go the way of Sunlight Dance, who threw her race away at the start on her debut at Roscommon and did remarkably well to finish as close as she did to the winner when beaten six lengths. A sluggish beginning is an obvious concern for her second start, but this is a weak race and she can make her presence felt if breaking on terms over an extra furlong and a half which should suit.

Selection: Sunlight Dance
