Armenia Vs Republic of Ireland Betting Tips
The Republic of Ireland did well in the end to salvage a 2-2 draw against Hungary in Dublin on Saturday, but the Boys in Green can boost their 2026 World Cup qualifying hopes by winning in Armenia on Tuesday.
The hosts were hammered 5-0 by a strong Portugal side at the weekend and will be hoping to at least be more competitive against Ireland.
Our Selections for Armenia Vs Republic of Ireland

Ireland set for important victory
Adam Idah's last-gasp strike rescued a point for Ireland in their opening 2026 World Cup qualifier, but the Boys in Green were clearly the better side in that time and should make amends against Armenia.
Heimir Hallgrimsson’s men registered 23 efforts on goal in the 2-2 draw with Hungary and hit nine shots on target in Saturday’s tie.
Ireland put up an expected goals figure of 2.75 against the Magyars in Dublin, and while the Boys in Green were helped by the second-half dismissal of winger Roland Sallai, the performance was an indication of their improvement.
Hallgrimsson's side have lost only one of their last seven matches and that single defeat came in a tough away assignment in England.
Ireland got the better of Bulgaria home and away in last term’s Nations League play-offs, and while there will always be moments of struggles for a side not blessed with huge strength in depth, Hallgrimsson’s men are capable of some pretty useful efforts.
Armenia have lost four of their last five matches and Havakakan have allowed a whopping 21 goals on that poor run.
Yegishe Melikyan’s were crushed 5-0 by Portugal on Saturday. Of course, Roberto Martinez’s men are a top-level European team, but Armenia conceded 24 efforts on goal and an expected goals tally of 6.34 on home turf.
At 4/5, Ireland look a good value bet to win at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium.
Ferguson fancied to find the net
Evan Ferguson didn’t open the scoring in Ireland’s 2-2 draw with Hungary on Saturday, but the on-loan Roma forward did find the net and it could be a case of striking while the iron is hot.
The 20-year-old’s rise has been hampered by injuries and a lack of game time, but the young forward remains a player with bags of potential and he has performed well in the opening two games of Roma’s Serie A campaign.
It’s worth remembering that Ferguson is a forward who scored six goals in each of the 2022-23 and 2023-24 Premier League campaigns and those efforts came in the formative part of the 20-year-old’s career.
Ireland are fancied to win in Armenia and Ferguson can open the scoring.
Ireland Strengths Lie Away from Set-Pieces
Despite having Jake O'Brien and Nathan Collins in their backline, Republic of Ireland aren't a team that are blessed with height across the pitch.
How did our Tips Perform Last Time Out
Last time out Republic of Ireland took on Hungary and drew 2-2. We predicted Ireland to get a result, Evan Ferguson to score the first goal and under 2.5 goals. Unfortunately, a hopeful Callum Styles flick into the box found Barnabas Varga who fired home to put our bet to the sword within 2 minutes.
Following this, Ireland's weak zonal marking system allowed Roland Sallai the opportunity to make it 0-2 and the Hungarian grasped that opportunity with both hands (and his head). Ireland looked hopeless in the first half but everything changed after the break where Evan Ferguson scored to get one back for Ireland. - If only we marked him as an anytime goalscorer!
A Roland Sallai red card later and Ireland were firmly back in the game but Hungary offered a lot of threat on counter-attacks and held strong at the back until at 92nd minute Adam Idah header got R.O.I back on level terms.
Ultimately, our bet builder for Hungary was a loss. However, Ireland getting a result and Evan Ferguson scoring, is enough for us to avoid ripping our notes up going into Armenia.
