The penultimate round of matches in the UEFA Conference League are down for decision on Thursday and both Shamrock Rovers and Shelbourne are still in search of maiden victories.
The Dublin sides are locked together with one point apiece after four games, despite some gallant efforts along the way. Stephen Bradley and Rovers are in Iceland to face Breidablik while Shelbourne have a glamour tie against Premier League opposition in Crystal Palace at the Tallaght Stadium.
It will take a footballing miracle to get either of the Airtricity Premier Division outfits through to the knockout stage now, but pride remains at stake.
Last month's draw in Athens against AEK showed that Shamrock Rovers can be hard to beat on the road. The Hoops were also stubborn on matchday four, losing 2-1 at home against Shakhtar Donetsk in Dublin.
The opening loss against Sparta Prague aside, the Irish champions have been competitive throughout this Conference League journey so far. Breidablik endured a disappointing end to their domestic season and so Rovers should head for the Icelandic National Stadium with an eye on a positive result.
Breidablik's most recent European success was against San Marino's Virtus in qualifying and they have failed to score in three of four games so far.
They did, though, claim a 2-2 draw with Conference League leaders Samsunspor here last time out, part of a four-game winless run for the Turkish side.
Shamrock Rovers are more than decent on the road and have won three and drawn one of their last six European away games.
Aaron McEneff and Max Kovalevskis are likely to come back into the reckoning after missing the defeat against Shakhtar in Tallaght.
If Rovers can continue their trend of finding the net in three of four games so in this competition, they will be well on their way to a positive result, but victory in Iceland may elude them.
Oliver Glasner and Crystal Palace make the short hop to Dublin and should have few problems accounting for Shelbourne.
Palace have kept five clean sheets in nine games since losing to Arsenal at the Emirates in October, shutting out the likes of Liverpool, Brentford, Brighton, Wolves and Burnley.
They face a Shels side without a goal in their four Conference League games.
The Reds will be hoping to avoid becoming the first team to go through the competition without finding the net but they face a really solid defensive unit now, led by skipper Marc Guehi.
With just five shots on target across four games to this point in the competition, Shelbourne don't appear well equipped to break down the best team they have faced so far. Joey O'Brien's side are in for another tough European evening.
