The quarter-final stages might have been lacking in quality but were dramatic nonetheless. Sure, we were all hoping for 4-4 thrillers, but that simply isn't major international football.

France and England have been playing, shall we say, pragmatic football? I will let you decide if you prefer to use some words that are a little stronger.

On the other hand, The Netherlands and especially Spain have been more pleasing on the eye and have attacked to great effect. However, what has come before often has no bearing on what will come next. The question is, who are you backing to go all the way?
