Premier League GW 6 Betting Tips

22nd October 2020

We’re now five games in for most sides and it’s still Everton that sit pretty at the top of the Premier League. Their 100% winning run did come to an end in the Merseyside derby in what turned out to be an incredibly controversial fixture. Not only was a last-minute Liverpool winner ruled out for a marginal offside, but the referee decided not to send off Jordan Pickford for a high tackle that has likely ended Virgil van Dijk’s season. This week, Everton have to travel to the south coast for a clash with Southampton, knowing that a win would keep them top of the table. For this week, we take a look at all the latest Premier League tips and UK sports betting odds.

Aston Villa vs Leeds United - 8:00pm 23rd October

When the season got underway, not many people would have expected Aston Villa to be sat 2nd in the league, having won all of their games. This is even more shocking as they’ve played one less game than most other sides, but the form of Dean Smith’s side has been exceptional. A last-minute Ross Barkley strike won them the game at Leicester, and they’ll fancy their chances again on Friday night. Leeds United will be without influential midfielder Kalvin Phillips for a few weeks, and captain Liam Cooper may also miss out. An already small squad becomes smaller, and we’re backing Villa to keep their incredible run going.

Aston Villa To Win: 5/4

West Ham United vs Manchester City - 12:30pm 24th October

After 16 minutes of the London derby at Spurs, things looked extremely bleak for West ham. An unbelievable comeback in the last 10 minutes saw them take a point though, with Manuel Lanzini’s equaliser a certain goal of the season contender. They face a tough test this weekend though, as Man City are in town. Pep Guardiola’s side won a surprisingly uneventful game against Arsenal last week but did have Sergio Aguero back in the team, which is a considerable boost. Raheem Sterling scored a hat-trick in this very fixture last season, as Man City won 5-0. West Ham do look more solid now than they did back then, but we still think the England forward is well capable of getting himself on the scoresheet again here.

Sterling To Score: 23/25

Fulham vs Crystal Palace - 3:00pm 24th October

Fulham did manage to get their first point of the season at Bramall Lane but will undoubtedly feel like they should have taken all three points. Aleksandar Mitrovic blazed his penalty over the bar, gave a penalty away at the other end, and missed a late chance to win the game. They’re bottom of the league and will have to be targeting a game like this as a must-win. Palace have had a balanced season, with two wins, one draw and two defeats. They’re defensively solid, but lack any spark going forward. They only had one shot in the last game, and it was from the penalty spot. The chances are they’ll do better here though, as Fulham are poor.

Crystal Palace To Win: 33/20

Manchester United vs Chelsea - 5:30pm 24th October

In typical Man United fashion, they followed up a heavy 6-1 defeat to Spurs by beating both Newcastle and PSG within the space of a few days. Marcus Rashford looks in top form, and may well play through the middle once again. Timo Werner opened his Premier League account for Chelsea with two goals and looked very sharp against a defence that lacked a bit of pace. Up against Harry Maguire, he could have a field day. Both sides are set up to attack and have been massively weak in defence, so the chances are that this will be the game of the weekend. We’re backing goals to flow at Old Trafford.

Over 3.5 Goals: 31/20

Liverpool vs Sheffield United - 8:00pm 24th October

Sometimes, predicting Premier League football matches seems quite simple. All of the stats in the world as well as what we see to the naked eye suggests that Liverpool will beat Sheffield United easily at Anfield. The Blades have looked very poor so far and were quite lucky to get their only point on the board. Even though Liverpool are missing key defenders, Chris Wilder’s side are still lacking any goal threat. Going the other way, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane will certainly fancy their chances of bagging a couple of goals each.

Liverpool Win To Nil: 19/20

Southampton vs Everton - 2:00pm 25th October

This game could be interesting due to two of the in-form English strikers on show. Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks unstoppable at the moment, with seven goals in the Premier League and scoring in every fixture. Rising like a salmon to head home against Liverpool was yet another highlight in what is turning into an outstanding start to the season for Everton’s number 9. For the Saints, Danny Ings is an excellent talisman who has scored four times already. This adds to his 22 strikes in the league last season, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. We would not be at all surprised to see both players find the net in this game.

Both Teams To Score: 4/7

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Newcastle United - 4:30pm 25th October

Wolves have bounced back from the shocking loss to West Ham by winning two games 1-0, which has been classic Wolves since they returned to the top flight. Newcastle, on the other hand, fell apart at home to Man United and they will not be relishing this trip to Molineux. Wanderers have plenty of pace going forward, with Traore, Podence and Neto providing Raul Jimenez with chances to score. Against a Newcastle side that let their opponents take several shots, the Mexican striker could be in business.

Jimenez To Score: 11/10

Arsenal vs Leicester City - 7:15pm 25th October

Arsenal have been reasonably steady and currently sit in 5th place, but have gone a little bit under the radar due to not being that entertaining to watch. It’s quite tough to work out Mikel Arteta’s gameplan from week to week, but he has seemed to take a much more defensive approach this season. Both of these sides suffered narrow 1-0 defeats last week, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see a similar scoreline on Sunday.

Under 2.5 Goals: 11/10

Brighton & Hove Albion vs West Bromwich Albion - 5:30pm 26th October

Graham Potter can feel very unlucky that his side didn’t win against Palace, as they dominated all the play and gave away a very soft penalty. West Brom are one of four sides yet to win a game, but they did get a point and a clean sheet at home to Burnley. Although the results haven’t been there so far, Brighton are a very attacking side and have had tough fixtures so far. We’d expect them to brush West Brom aside.

Brighton To Win: 3/4

Burnley vs Tottenham Hotspur - 8:00pm 26th October

Burnley look like they could be in big trouble. The Clarets have a small squad and haven’t strengthened at all, so it’s going to be a long season for them. If you offered Sean Dyche 17th place right now, he’d probably take it. Spurs have scored the most goals in the division so far with 15 in five matches and they are showing no signs of slowing down. Kane is looking back to his best, and Son has reached another level too. Neither of these things bode well for Burnley at all. A big Tottenham win is what we’re going for here.

Spurs -1: 8/5
