Source of Funds

What is a Source of Funds check, and why is it important?

In short, the ‘source of funds check’ is just a fancy way of saying that we need your help to verify with our license providers that your deposits are coming from legal means– be it from your salary, profits from your own business or similar sources.

LeoVegas is licensed under MGA, SGA, UKGC, DGA, IRC and AAMS. All our license providers based in Europe are subject to the EU 4th AML Directive, which requires all entities dealing with financial transactions to verify the legitimacy of the source of these funds. European law is always evolving to stay effective against online crime, and you can read more about the directive here.

Unfortunately, the actions of the few affects the many, and we are fully committed towards keeping any fraudulent and criminal activity off our site while ensuring that everyone is enjoying our entertainment within their means. While we do understand that the source of your deposits is very clear to you, we need your help to clarify it for us.

Which documents can you use to verify your source of funds?

We understand and appreciate that our customers have different financial situations, and we have compiled a few examples below to help you out on which document types you can send us based on your preferred source of funding:

Salary: If your deposits originate from your salary we kindly ask you to supply us with copies of your pay slips from the previous 3 months. Alternatively, you can also supply us with your most recent tax return.

Savings: If your deposits originate from your savings we kindly ask you to verify how you earned the money that you put aside as savings. Please upload a bank statement showing the current balance of your savings account and relevant documents showing the source of your savings.

Sales of assets: If your deposits originate from sales of different assets such as cars, jewelry, property, antiques, businesses etc. we kindly ask you to supply us with a copy of the sale agreement supported by a bank statement showing the proceeds of the sale being credited to your bank account.

Inheritance: If the origin of your deposits stems from inheritance we kindly ask you to provide us with a bank statement showing the incoming funds supported by a notarized copy outlining the value of your inheritance.

We encourage you to get in touch with us regarding any other type of documentation you might have at hand which should clarify the source of your deposits.

We are always willing to assist you further in this process if need be, do not hesitate to get in touch with our verifications team on verifications@leovegas.com.

Rest assured that all the documentation we receive will be handled by our verifications personnel, who in accordance with the Data Protection Act will treat any information you send us as highly confidential. Documents received will be stored on a secure internal server, and you can read more about our Privacy Policy here.

Our efforts to provide you with a great customer experience whilst meeting these requirements will continuously remain our goal, so should you have any questions please feel free to get in touch with us.
