As you may have figured from the name, codes (more specifically cracking them) are at the heart of the Golden Cryptex slot. During the base game, you’re looking out for five A symbols on the central payline. If you land three or four, you may be given a second chance where the A symbols lock in place for a respin or two to see if the remaining A symbols needed to trigger the feature land on the reels.

Land five As on the reels and you’ll receive a payout and trigger 10 Golden Spins. During this feature the symbols needed to crack the code will change from the A to the lowest higher-value symbol (the horseshoe). You then need to trigger the Cryptex Cash award, if you do, the symbol is upgraded, and three more spins are given.

Cryptex Cash is only active during the free spins feature and makers five-of-a-kind combinations easier to land. Instead of needing to get five matching symbols on a payline, if you land them anywhere on each of the five reels you’ll get the payout for five symbols, and the Cryptex symbol will be upgraded.

There are nine regular symbols on the reels of the Golden Cryptex slot, each of which pay if you land three or more on one of the slot’s paylines. It’s worth noting that landing three A symbols on the middle reel could offer three extra spins, so this symbol could pay out a minimum of 15x bet for three on that payline.
