PSG v Lille Betting Tips
We’re off to France for our first match in this week’s European Football Betting tips. Paris Saint-Germain are top of Ligue 1, but it’s been less dominant than last season. In 2018-19, they won their first fourteen league games on the trot, going unbeaten overall across their opening twenty. Thomas Tuchel’s second campaign as PSG head coach hasn’t been quite as rosy, with three defeats from their opening thirteen, taking in away losses at Rennes and Dijon, as well as a shock home defeat to Reims. That said, they’ve also won 4-0 at home on three occasions so far, having only played six at Le Parc des Princes, so they’re unpredictable at best. They’ll be wary of the away side, but they’ll also be confident in their firepower, which boasts the likes of Mauro Icardi and Kylian Mbappe.

Lille managed a second place finish in last season’s Ligue 1, just about holding off the challenge of Lyon. This season, they’re a little bit off the pace, with three wins fewer than the eight they’d accrued at this stage in 2018. This fixture was played at a similar time last season, with PSG clinging onto a win despite heavy pressure from the away side, and a late Nicolas Pepe goal. Lille then put PSG to the sword as they won 5-1 at Stade Pierre-Mauroy in April, although three of their key players that day have now moved on to new pastures. This is part of the reason that Lille aren’t quite hitting the heights of last year, although they know that if they can get something away in Paris they could climb to as high as second. That’s sure to add some motivation, as if they needed any, as they look to recover from a disappointing loss to Marseille, and an underwhelming draw at home to Metz in their last two league games.
