Man City’s 2-1 defeat at Chelsea on Thursday meant that what we all knew was coming finally got official confirmation: Liverpool FC are Premier League champions. A 19th title and the first in the ‘Premier League’ era, Jurgen Klopp’s side have dominated the domestic competition and have won the PL at the earliest stage of any side in terms of games played, but the latest in terms of calendar date. Although they’ll lift the trophy, there are still seven rounds of fixtures left for every side.

Premier League Match Previews
Now, here are some of our selected tips & odds for the Premier League Gameweek 32.
Aston Villa vs Wolverhampton Wanderers - 12:30pm 27th June
It’s been an odd season for Villa. When you look at their squad, there is some quality there but they just haven’t been able to put it all together. There has been so much pressure put on Jack Grealish, with the 24-year-old positioned as the main man and club captain. If he doesn’t perform, they won’t get a result. It’s very much the opposite for their Midlands rivals Wolves, who are well in the hunt for the Champions League places. The lethal combination of Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez have combined in both games since their return and look fantastic together.
Villa are 19th for a reason and are in big trouble. Wolves are a much stronger side and are in better form, so we only see it going one way.
Watford vs Southampton - 4:30pm 28th June
Sunday’s sole Premier League fixture is a tough one to call, as both sides have struggled for consistency since the return to football. Watford got a solid draw against Leicester, but followed it up with a dismal away performance in a 1-0 defeat at Burnley. They’re very much still in the mire towards the bottom, just one solitary point ahead of Aston Villa, Bournemouth and West Ham. The Saints have a win and a draw since the return, with a few goalkeeping errors from Alex McCarthy handing Arsenal all three points. They’re not mathematically safe yet but in all likelihood will be a Premier League side again.
It’s hard to split these two. Watford are betting favourites due to the fact they need the points, but Southampton are very good on the road. We’re sitting on the fence here.
Crystal Palace vs Burnley - 8:00pm 29th June
Crystal Palace’s fantastic run of results was brought to a dramatic halt at Anfield, as the Eagles were destroyed 4-0. A disappointing night was made even worse early on, as star man Wilfried Zaha went off with a calf injury. Vicente Guaita and Christian Benteke also missed that game and are struggling for fitness for this one. In the opposition camp, Sean Dyche has been very vocal about his disagreements with the Burnley board over the lack of action taken in renewing contracts. An already threadbare squad has been dismantled even more, with the Clarets struggling to fill their bench.
There is a severe lack of goal threat in the two sides, so it would be a major surprise to see plenty of chances fly in.
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester United - 8:15pm 30th June
Brighton have put themselves in a fantastic position to avoid the drop, with a win and a draw since their return to action. They're now six points clear of the relegation zone with a much better goal difference. It's the form of the sides below them that will be the biggest plus point though. This is far from an easy game though, as Man United are in excellent form. Bruno Fernandes has been a spectacular signing, while Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford are back playing well too. Champions League football is in their sights, but the Red Devils will feel like they need to win here.
As there is so much creativity in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, it will be tough for the Seagulls to keep them out.
Bournemouth vs Newcastle United - 6:00pm 1st July
Eddie Howe looks like a worried man on the touchline for Bournemouth. Whatever he’s doing does not seem to be working anymore, even though he has had a lot of success at the club in the past. The Cherries are in the bottom three and have lost both games without scoring a goal since their return. Newcastle fans were massively disappointed as their side barely turned up in the FA Cup Quarter Final, leaving the Magpies without the chance of a trophy yet again. The wait goes on for the Toon Army. Steve Bruce has hinted that he’ll rest a number of players here, giving Bournemouth a fantastic opportunity for a much-needed win.
Everton vs Leicester City - 6:00pm 1st July
It’s difficult to work out how Everton look since the return, as they literally haven’t given much away. Two clean sheets in a row, including one against new champions Liverpool, have left the side in a solid position but the Toffees will be looking to finish higher than the 12th place they currently find themselves in. Leicester have been possibly the most disappointing side since the return of the Premier League, and may actually be in danger of losing out on their Champions League spot if they don’t start winning games again soon. They’re only three points clear of 6th placed Wolves at the moment.
The Foxes have drawn their last two league games and Jamie Vardy has barely had a sniff of a chance. Another stalemate could be on the cards.
Arsenal vs Norwich City - 6:00pm 1st July
As usual, there’s always something going on in the background at Arsenal. Mesut Ozil seems to have been frozen out, while the rest of the camp have turned into Johnny Tightlips from The Simpsons on the whole situation. While no-one’s saying anything, it’s left fans guessing. They’ve won their last two in all competitions though. It’s all gone wrong for Norwich. They weren’t in an unsalvageable position at the time of the restart, but they’ve just looked so poor since. It just seems like a matter of time before their drop back to the Championship is confirmed.
Arsenal will never get a better opportunity to win a Premier League game than this. Norwich look like true relegation fodder.
West Ham United vs Chelsea - 8:15pm 1st July
Another side in the thick of the relegation battle, West Ham are struggling to put together good performances. They have some talented players, of that there’s no doubt, but they just haven’t been able to get results this season. David Moyes is not the most popular manager with his own fans and has a task on his hands to turn it around. Chelsea is not the fixture they’d want right now, as the Blues are looking fit and strong since the return. Christian Pulisic, in particular, is playing well, so they’ll hope he can shake off a calf injury to take his place in the side.
Chelsea are in a close fight for their place in the Champions League, and it would be a shock to see them not get the job done.
Sheffield United vs Tottenham Hotspur - 6:00pm 2nd July
Spurs can still qualify for the Champions League, but they are 9 points behind 4th. Jose Mourinho has plenty of attacking options to choose from now, with Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min, Lucas Moura, Steven Bergwijn and Dele Alli all looking to take their place in the side. They’ll fancy their chances in this one, as Sheffield United have looked shaky since the return, which is the opposite of what they were for the rest of the season. It would be a shame to see a great season fall apart at the end.
Spurs are in better form and have a stronger side. Sometimes football can be that simple.
Manchester City vs Liverpool - 8:15pm 2nd July
This is probably the hardest game of the week to call, as we don’t know what to expect from either side. Liverpool have now been confirmed as the new Premier League champions, taking the title away from Man City and Pep Guardiola. You’d have to think that City want to make a statement with a big win, while Liverpool will want to assert their dominance. We expect to see the strongest side from both, as neither will want to lose this. There are other narratives on show too, such as Mo Salah and Sadio Mane’s hunt for the Golden Boot.
It’s expected that both teams will go all guns blazing, which could make for an incredibly entertaining game.
