Premier League Betting Preview - GW 27

21st February 2020

Once again we reach a Premier League weekend with Jose Mourinho as the main talking point. This time around, he takes his Spurs side to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea, the club that he won three Premier League titles for. Elsewhere, Liverpool look to bounce back from a Champions League defeat by demolishing West Ham, while second play third with Man City’s trip to Leicester.

Here at LeoVegas, we provide Premier League betting tips for each game across the season. You can also check out the latest online sports betting odds for other matches across the top leagues, with football betting tips markets stretching from match-winner to building your own bet.

Now, here are some of our selected tips & odds for the Premier League Gameweek 27.

Chelsea vs Tottenham - 12:30pm 22nd February

Chelsea must have been so disappointed with their defeat at home to Man United, and this is a similar game for them. Spurs were dealt a big blow as Son broke an arm in the win at Aston Villa and could actually miss the rest of the season. With a lack of firepower on both sides, it would be surprising to see a high scoring game here. Especially when you consider Jose’s tactics in big games over the last few years, as a bus may well be parked.

BTTS No: Evens

Sheffield United vs Brighton & Hove Albion - 3:00pm 22nd February

Sheffield United have won their last two Premier League games in a row and with the Champions League ban of Man City, they could actually be within reach of qualification for Europe’s primary club competition. They will fancy their chances against this Brighton side too, who have failed to win their last six Premier League games. This should be routine for the Blades but football is not always that easy.

Sheffield United to Win: 19/20

Southampton vs Aston Villa - 3:00pm 22nd February

It will be interesting to see if Southampton’s woeful home form continues against a side that desperately need the points. Danny Ings and Jack Grealish are the danger men for each side. The difference seems to be how important they are to their teams. If you took Ings out of the Saints side they would manage but remove Grealish and Aston Villa would be all but relegated.

Jack Grealish to Score: 33/10

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle United - 3:00pm 22nd February

Crystal Palace are still relying on Wilfried Zaha to come up with the goods for them, but it’s just not working at the moment. The Eagles are on the slide, but they should pick up enough points to survive. Brazilian striker Joelinton could miss the game through injury for Newcastle, which would mean they are without a focal point up front. That being said, he’s only scored one league goal all season so that aspect of his game would not be missed. Goals are not expected in this one.

Under 2.5 Goals: 12/25

Burnley vs Bournemouth - 3:00pm 22nd February

If you asked 100 neutral football fans which Premier League game they were looking forward to the most this weekend, the chances are absolutely none of them would say Burnley vs Bournemouth. That being said, there is a bit of intrigue as to which side can get a result. Burnley will make it physical and with home advantage and a bit of confidence after a good run, they could have things their own way against a defensively fragile Cherries side.

Burnley To Win: 11/10

Leicester City vs Manchester City - 5:30pm 22nd February

On the flip side to the last game, this is probably the most interesting game. There are so many factors coming into play here: it’s second vs third, how will Man City line up with the game against Real Madrid in midweek and how will they react to the shocking ban from European competition for next season? Leicester will probably not get a better chance to claim a big win over Pep Guardiola’s side, though the Foxes themselves have hardly been in great form.

Draw: 16/5

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Norwich City - 2:00pm 23rd February

Wolves should be on cloud nine after their 4-0 demolition of Espanyol in midweek. Diogo Jota hit a hattrick and Ruben Neves scored a 25 yard volley to top off a memorable night at Molineux. The occasion might not be as grand when they take on Norwich at the weekend, but we expect a similar result. They face a Norwich side that has the worst away record in the Premier League, picking up just 6 points on their travels. One thing that Norwich do have in their favour is talent going forward. Between Teemu Pukki, Todd Cantwell and Emil Buendia, Norwich can score at any point. Whilst we fancy Wolves to easily get a win here, don’t be surprised if Norwich grab a goal on the counter attack.

Wolves To Win & BTTS: 5/2

Manchester United vs Watford- 2:00pm 23rd February

Watford haven’t won at Old Trafford in almost 42 years, and although Manchester United have been poor this season, we can’t see that stat changing anytime soon. Manchester United are without Marcus Rashford to lead the lineup this weekend, and likely for the rest of the season. Odion Ighalo could make a home debut for his new side, against his old employers, but we expect another man to get the goals. Anthony Martial has long been on the cusp of becoming a vital player for United. With Rashford’s absence, and no other real goalscorers in the team, this is the chance for Martial to step up to the plate and become the player United fans expected him to be.

A.Martial To Score: 23/20

Arsenal vs Everton - 4:30pm 23rd February

Mikel Arteta earned just the second win of his managerial career when Arsenal put Newcastle to the sword with a 4-0 win. But, there are still plenty of issues at the Emirates. Arsenal looked in danger every time Newcastle went forward in that match. Against a better team, they could have found themselves 3-0 down before half time. When they play Everton on Sunday, they are facing a side that has grown to take its chances in recent weeks. In particular, Dominic Calvert Lewin and Richarlison have taken a step up since Carlo Ancelotti took over. If Arsenal put in another average performance, Everton could easily pick them apart and win at the Emirates for the first time in their history.

Everton Or Draw: 41/50

Liverpool vs West Ham United - 8:00pm 24th February

These two sides couldn’t be further apart in terms of quality this season. Liverpool are on course for a record breaking year, dropping just 2 points in 26 games so far. As for West Ham, they are now on their second manager of the season and there still doesn’t look like any signs of improvement. So, this game should be the easiest of the week to predict. The sides met just 3 weeks ago, with Liverpool winning 2-0 at the London Stadium. Back at Anfield, we are expecting plenty more goals and a complete Liverpool masterclass against a West Ham side that should seriously be worrying about relegation.

Over 4.5 Goals: 43/20
