Premier League Betting Preview - GW 25

31st January 2020

The longer the season goes on, the more it appears as if Liverpool have wrapped up the Premier League title with ease. They have now won 23 of 24 matches and are yet to lose a league game this season, which has taken their outright title odds to 1/100 at the time of writing. This week they have a home game against Southampton which is expected to be relatively straightforward, therefore most of the eyes will be on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday as Jose meets Pep yet again.

Now, here are some of our selected tips & odds for the Premier League Gameweek 25.

Leicester City vs Chelsea - 12:30pm 1st February

Things seem to have dropped off a little bit for Leicester in the last few weeks, but they are still in an incredible position in the Premier League. 14 points clear of 5th place, a Champions League spot is very likely. It remains to be seen whether or not Jamie Vardy starts after his glute injury, as he returned from the bench in midweek. Chelsea come into this game on the back of advancing in the FA Cup although they have looked far from convincing lately. Defensively there seem to be cracks in both sides at the moment.

Over 2.5 Goals: 4/6

West Ham United vs Brighton & Hove Albion - 3:00pm 1st February

The form of both sides here has been absolutely dreadful, and that’s being kind. West Ham didn’t really make a dent in Liverpool on Wednesday and crashed out of the cup last weekend. David Moyes has not been able to turn their fortunes around at all so far, with the Hammers really struggling. Brighton are in 15th but only two points clear of the drop zone. Alarm bells must have been sounding after the 3-1 defeat to Bournemouth, a side that previously couldn’t buy a win. We are set to see a tense and nervy affair at the London Stadium.

Draw: 12/5

Newcastle United vs Norwich City - 3:00pm 1st February

Newcastle managed to make some decent signings in the January window, with England international Danny Rose probably the pick of the bunch. They were all on loan though, as uncertainty about the ownership of the club continues. On the pitch, things are going well with the incredible comeback at Everton in their last league game. It’s looking particularly bleak for Norwich, although they are by no means out of it just yet. The Canaries' away form is a huge concern though.

Newcastle To Win: 5/4

Watford vs Everton - 3:00pm 1st February

After a stark upturn in form, Watford then went and lost two games in three days. Aston Villa found a late winner before a much-changed Hornets side fell to Tranmere in the cup. For Everton, they will have been so annoyed to throw away two points having lead Newcastle 2-0 in the 92nd minute. That said, Troy Deeney and Dominic Calvert Lewin have both been in form, so it would be no surprise to see them both get on the scoresheet at Vicarage Road.

Both Teams To Score: 3/4

Bournemouth vs Aston Villa - 3:00pm 1st February

Bournemouth really needed a victory against Brighton and they got it in emphatic fashion, which will mean they can take confidence into this crucial game at the bottom of the table. The Cherries are 18th, with opponents Aston Villa only two points and two places above them. Villa have had a great week actually, beating Watford and then reaching the League Cup final by beating midlands rivals Leicester. Captain Jack Grealish remains the key man and Dean Smith will be relying on him to come up with the goods.

Grealish To Score: 11/4

Liverpool vs Southampton - 3:00pm 1st February

Liverpool have won 15 Premier League matches in a row and are showing absolutely no signs of slowing down. It really has been an incredible run for them, and having somehow missed out on the title with 97 points last year they look all but certain to claim the title for the first time in 30 years this time around. The Reds have a great record against Southampton too, although the Saints are in good form. Former Liverpool striker Danny Ings will, of course, be the man to watch for them.

Over 3.5 Goals: 27/20

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United - 3:00pm 1st February

Crystal Palace have really struggled so far in January, without a win in their last five Premier League matches. The good thing for the Eagles is that they are nowhere near the relegation zone though, up in 11th. Sheffield United’s away form has been exceptional and they are a threat to anyone. Armed with new record signing Sander Berge who will provide a combative edge to their midfield.

Sheffield United To Win:6/4

Manchester United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers - 5:30pm 1st February

The big news for Man United this week was that they brought in Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon in what could be a very astute deal. It is really difficult to trust the Red Devils in any game at the moment though, and Wolves are one of the most dangerous sides in the league. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team usually up their game against the big boys and players like Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez will be relishing the trip to Old Trafford.

Draw or Wolves: 4/6

Burnley vs Arsenal - 2:00pm 2nd February

Burnley shocked a lot of fans and pundits by beating Leicester and Man United in consecutive games, with both teams struggling to cope with their physical style. This will be a slightly different test for them though. The Gunners welcome back captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for this game after serving his three-match suspension and he scored twice at Turf Moor in this fixture last season. They have missed him a little with consecutive draws, but Gabriel Martinelli has certainly stepped up with goals and great performances in the Gabon strikers absence.

Arsenal To Win: Evens

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City - 4:30pm 2nd February

In classic Jose Mourinho style, Spurs will be expected to sit back and absorb a lot of pressure from Man City in this game, especially due to the fact that the London club do not have a proper striker to field. Breaking through the defence will be a task that someone like Kevin De Bruyne is relishing though. Legendary striker Sergio Aguero is hitting form again at a good time too with the return of the Champions League coming up, having scored seven goals in his last four Premier League games.

Sergio Aguero To Score: 3/4
